On Thursday, the Jan Suraj Party received a significant boost when Sarfaraz Alam, a four-time MLA and former MP from Jokihat in Araria, officially joined the party. Alam, the son of the late Union Minister Taslimuddin, is a prominent Muslim political figure in the Seemanchal region, now aligning with Prashant Kishor's faction.
Former RJD Leader Sarfaraz Alam Joins Jan Suraj Party
After resigning from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) just hours earlier, Sarfaraz Alam joined Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraj Party. During a press conference at Sheikhpura House in Patna, Kishor, along with National President Uday Singh and State President Manoj Bharti, welcomed Alam into the party.
Alam, who is the son of the late RJD leader Taslimuddin, expressed his admiration for Jan Suraj, stating, 'I salute Jan Suraj for its commitment to transforming Bihar under the vision of founder Prashant Kishor.'
He emphasized that this platform would allow him to continue his father's legacy by fighting for the people of Seemanchal. The former RJD leader mentioned feeling stifled for a long time.
Welcoming Alam, Kishor remarked that his entry would shift the political narrative in Seemanchal from 'politics of fear to politics of development.'
Following this political development, Kishor launched a sharp critique against the Grand Alliance and RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.
Kishor accused the Grand Alliance of openly selling tickets for millions of rupees this time. He claimed that internal conflicts had led to two parties within the Grand Alliance fielding their candidates in several areas. He demanded clarification from the Grand Alliance regarding Mukesh Sahni, who unilaterally claimed the Deputy Chief Minister position without an official seat announcement, questioning whether he is truly an ally.
